What is the opinion of posters on the issue of gay couple adopting or raising a child together?

Is it wrong morally?

Is to deny it an infringement on human rights?

I'm fine with it, as long as there are no long-term psychological problems that result from it; a child's mind is more vulnerable than an adult's. Though living with same-sex parents makes a kid more likely to be homosexual, that's only a bad thing if you oppose homosexuals to begin with. And that is, by definition, bigotry.

I wouldn't give an opinion on this without researching it. I, personally, have no issue, but the interests of the child have to be paramount and I do not know if there is any risk associated.

I don't imagine it would be the simplest thing to explain to peers during adolescence.

I have some concerns over two men (gay or not) being in control of a child. Sorry, but the abuse issue does rear its head in the case of any two men who are not the biological parents.

Socially the child would be veiwed as part of an abnormal freak family.

Studies have shown so far that the percentage of kids with gay parents who turn out to be gay is on par with those who have been raised by heterosexual parents.

Children are molested each and every day by parents at home who happen to be straight. You can't make this assumption on a ignorant and hatred of people. That is like saying all muslims are suicide bombers, they are clearly not.

The child would only be considered a freak in society by narrow-minded homophobes Al. And who defines "normal" society? You? God I hope not!

Like I said on another thread, Homosexuals are a protected class and aren't allowed to be discussed or debated.
