Communication minister and senior Maoist leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that his party will accept whatever result the 'peaceful constituent assembly election' produces.
"The verdict of the Nepali people given through peaceful election will be acceptable for us," Mahara, who is contesting the election form Dang constituency-3, said at a programme organised by Reporters Club in Dang Saturday.
Dismissing fears that the party's youth wing, the Young Communist League (YCL), would attempt to capture the polling booth rig the election, Mahara insisted that the YCL has in fact been working to make the polls peaceful.
He also claimed that his party will win majority in the polls. "People are in favour of new ideology, and majority of them are supporting us."
On a question regarding the continuing row wit the CPN-UML over electoral alliance, Mahara said UML has not shown readiness for such an alliance. "We are in favour of electoral alliance, but the UML has closed its door.
