Pokhara, Apr. 5: Senior Maoist leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai Saturday warned of a seizure of power by his party in case it failed to win comfortable majority due to rigging.
Addressing an election rally in Pokhara, Dr. Bhattarai said that the constituent assembly was a brainchild of the Maoists and only his party could responsibly lead the country.
Although the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) have been involved in defaming the Maoists, the nationwide wave of peoples support has proved that the party will get a majority, he added.
The CPN (Maoist) would accept the results in the condition that the election is held in free, fair and impartial manner. If the polls are rigged and NC and the CPN (UML) get a majority, they will follow old format while making constitution.
He warned, The Nepali people wont accept the constitution of old pattern; 20,000 peoples liberation army and thousands of young communist league members wont remain quiet if that happens.
Local Administration Minister and Maoist leader Dev Gurung said that he was ready to give his life for a republican state.
In Gorakha, Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said constituent assembly election would end old feudal state mechanism, RSS reported.
In the election rally, organised here today at Pouwatar, Gaikhur VDC of Gorakha, he said his party was making efforts to make a house with solid foundation that could include all castes, classes, women and Dalit by demolishing old house.
