I watched this a few weeks ago and found it very interesting. One of the experiments the film maker did was to take headlines from the main stream media and change the word Muslim to Black or Jew. He them showed it to people who where extremely offended yet no one seemed to bother about the original.

He also showed that many stories about Muslims in the main stream papers (and not just the tabloids) where either extremely exaggerated or just made up. An example of this was the claim in one of the widest circulating British papers that a bank had to remove piggy banks from their branches for fear of offending Muslims. When he visited the bank this was not the case at all - the story was a complete fabrication.

I watched this and found it to be quite interesting. The only tihng that annoys me, and its happened on more than one occassion with Channel 4, is when presenting views such as people who were against the building of a mosque for example, why do they pick the biggest chavs going, people who cant even string a coherant sentance together. It makes it appear that all people who share the same view are just like them - uneducated or ignorant. Its very very annoying. And i cant help thinking that it is deliberate.

OT did you watch the documentary of the qur'an that was also one - very very interesting.

The documentary on the Qur'an is a testament to the diversity in Islam, the negative influences (Saudi Arabia, advocation of genital mutilation etc) and the positive influences such as the reasoning of Tariq Ali and the other English speaking Imam, can't remember his name.

I couldnt believe how badly twisted the Quaran had been by some of the countries mentioned - how the heck do they get away with doing that?
