Dear Website-Visitor,

the Google-Browser CHROME is not allowed on this site.
Please use any alternative browser and come back.

Thanks :)

My question is : Why this?Do you know more?

To discourage people from using the browser I would assume as Google chrome collects much more information about what you do online than any other browser. Many websites are doing the same as I think it may also collect information about them.

Do you use it yourself Greekzton? I tried it out and didn't like it at all. Firefox is the best by far for me.

I've not heard of those problems with Chrome.

EDIT: Just looked around--Wow, I didn't know about those aspects. Interesting......

I love the add ons for firefox, some of them are great. There is one for example where you can hi light any text on any web page and it will stay like that permenantly when you sign in. Really great for going through documents online. I have however been having some problems since I got Firefox 3, the main one being that for no reason webpages suddenly appear unavailable and stay like that for 10-15 minutes.

Firefox is my default browser and I like the add-ons it has, too. But I use Chrome a lot and like it, too. It opens for me a lot faster than Firefox does. I'm using Chrome here right now. I've never seen the message described in the OP so I've never visited a site that didn't like Chrome.

I definitely prefer firefox because of the plugins like NoScript, AdBlock Plus, and Rest In Peace (for the sites that put up HUGE ad banners that take up a huge amount of screen real estate that are on the same server as the main site). NoScript has kept my computer virtually spyware-free for almost two years.

No script is great. Has anyone tried the Opera browser and what do they think of it? The IT guy here in work tells me it is the best of all.

Anybody use Ubuntu? I think it is a whole alternative to Windows rather then just a browser. I hear good things about it.

Yes I think so as it only started since I got FF3. One of the pages I regularly loose is google which I doubt is actually down.

Not sure as I really like firefox. When it happens and then I open a different browser the same sites be down, but if I haven't opened FF then no sites ever go down. I am not sure if it is FF itself or some compatibility issue it has with my firewall. Anytime a site doesn't work, it becomes ok once I restart my laptop. Maybe someone with a bit more technical knowledge could help us out.

That's weird because I have no problems with Firefox and I update it every time a newer version is available. :hmmm:

Must be firewall we use or maybe something else, but it certainly has something to do with FF.

I notice quirk when its being real slow that deleting my cookies seems to help substantially.

I use all three for different things.

I have also heard that Google Chrome collects information and people don't appreciate that. I was refused access to websites which don't accept Chrome, had the same error message as Greekzton. But I like how Chrome displays and the tiled icons and so on, I find it user-friendly. It freezes though and is slow. And I can't be bothered clearing the cache all the time just for that. I am hoping these are just teething problems as it's relatively new online and with time they might resolve them.

Firefox is ok. No problems at all with that except with one specific site which won't allow me to open a second window. I think that is due to user error:), not the browser.

But I keep IE on the desktop also. If you can't access with the other two, you can just revert to that.

I never use IE really at all. Firefox also has a programme for tiled bookmarks which I have found very user friendly. It is called fast dial:

Hey Quirkie ;)

I just started using Firefox...I heard the last version need a few patches so I avoided it.

Strangely, I was surfing addons today and noticed that one. Thank you, I will use it, because I really like that layout much better than bookmarks.
