Kantipur Report
KATHAMNDU, Feb 29 - Maoist Chairman Prachanda Friday claimed that the Maoists will perform a political spectacle after the upcoming Constituent Assembly elections.
Saying that the Maoists are taking part in the April 10 polls as per the spirit of the decade-long people’s war, the Maoist Chairman insisted that they will gain power in a legal manner.
At an introduction programme of CA candidates nominated from the capital today, Prachanda directed the party activists to actively engage in the election preparations as the party’s goal for the CA polls was clear.
“The path is clear, let’s move forward. No force can stop us. The Nepali people will win” he said.
Saying that the party had come to the polls with new thinking and ideology, the Maoist Supremo claimed that the party was not returning to the old parliamentary system.
“Those old people have not understood, a spectacle is going to occur in this country after a month,” he said, “They’ve only thought that the Maoists have come to take part in the polls like during the old parliamentary election. (But) they are in illusion.”
“We’ve come to the final front of our fight, to the Constituent Assembly front,” he said, “And we’ll show (them) executing a spectacle.”
He warned anyone who tries to disrupt the CA polls of eliminating its existence.
He reiterated that the Maoists would gain power through other alternative measures if the CA polls are not held on the slated date.
Informing that the Maoists were into the elections from the centre to the local levels, he said that they will fulfill their goal for political change through the CA.
